Description
The relay STR is intended for the complete protection of high power motors with
medium voltage or low voltage supply. Several protection functions incorporated in a
single relay assure the protection of the motor against all the different fault
conditions; overheating caused by mechanical overload or by an abnormal supply, locked
rotor, too long starting, interruption of one phase conductor, current unbalance, short
circuit between phases, short circuit between turns, earth fault, underload running, too
frequent startings.
Characteristics
The relay STR features the following principal characteristics:

DESCRIPTION
The relay type SVR is intended for the protection of electric lines and machines against voltage variations. The following protection and monitoring functions are available, all with independent time delay:
undervoltage protection (27),

positive sequence undervoltage protection (27P),

The relays type SSG are intended for the protection against overloads, short circuits and earth faults in radial networks, ring mains or variable structure networks.

Microprocessor-based current differential relay with overcurrent, earth fault and thermal elements
DESCRIPTION
The differential current relays type SKC is intended for the protection of generators, large motors, two winding power transformers and short lines. The following functions are provided:
thermal (49) for transformer programmable on one of the two sides;
overload (51) and short circuit (50) independently programmable on both sides;
earth fault (50N-51N) or restricted earth fault (87N);
biased differential function for transformers with second and fifth harmonic restraint (87T);
biased differential function for motors, generators, and short lines (87G).
The relay SKC feature the following characteristics:
* seven current inputs, where six are provided for current phase measurements and the last one dedicated for residual current measurement;
* internal compensation of phase shift and ratio matching for transformers differential function (87T); conventional external compensation can also be selected with external CT's;
* stabilizing circuit with dual slope with variable bias makes the differential functions of SKC relay insensitive to external fault (87T, 87G);
* second and fifth harmonic restraint stabilization with strong magnetizing inrush currents and overexitation condition (87T) based on numerical processing of differential current (DFT algorithm);
* alernative set thresholds for 49-50-51-50N-51N/87N protection functions which are automatically enabled upon detection of high second harmonic above a programmable set-point to prevent tripping for transformer energization (inrush);
* earth fault protection insensitive to thirth and higher harmonic components;
* selectable operation curves with independent or dependent time (first thresholds) for overcurrent and earth fault functions;
* trip counting performed for each function;
* shorting values of input quantities corresponding to the four last operations (START or TRIP) and trace memory with pre and post trigger;

DESCRIPTION
The NTG digital protection relay integrates a number of functions required for the protection of generators. It is used in power stations from gas, steam, hydraulic turbine, or diesel driven generators, operating in parallel with the public grid and/or in isolation and with any neutral state and grid layout.
