Easy-grab fuseblock cover saves assembly and service time
Schurter's new easy-grab fuseblock cover, the OGN series, saves time during assembly as well as in test and service repair. The all-in-one fuseblock solution is available pre-loaded with 5x20mm fuse and fitted cover. It is available in tape and reel packaging for fully automated assembly.
The easy-grab cover 'grabs' hold of the fuse, removing it when the cover is lifted. It simplifies removal and replacement of the fuse, especially in tight spaces. It also improves safety, by eliminating direct contact with the fuse in circuit.
The thermoplastic material of the OGN socket is rated UL 94V-0. It withstands high soldering temperatures as per IEC 60068-2-20 test Tb method 1B. Mounting variations include surface mount with a footprint of 23x6 mm or through-hole with a pitch of 22.5 or 25mm.
The OGN fuseblock is approved to a maximum of 10A/ 250V under UL, CSA and VDE. Its rated power acceptance at ambient air temperature is up to 4W with or without the reflow cover, or 2.5W with the transparent cover.
Packing options are loose, or in 500 piece trays and 400 piece tape and reel for easy machine assembly. Lead-time is stock to 6 weeks. Lead-free version is available.

5 x 20 SMD Fuses
SMD 5x20mm fuses cut space, as well as assembly time and expense because they are soldered directly onto the printed circuit board (PCB).
Gold plated end-caps allow for direct solder to the PCB and enable the fuses to easily withstand the heat of the soldering process. This simple solution eliminates the need for conventional axial leads (or pig-tails), which consume more board space and can jam during auto insertion because of lead-to-hole misalignment.
The FST/SPT series includes the same slow reaction time as the standard time-lag 5x20mm fuses according to IEC 127-2. The FTT offers a super time-lag opening. Time-lag fuses withstand current surge or repeated pulse currents.
The FST has a current range of up to 20 Amps at 250 Volts AC. The SPT type offers a high-breaking capacity of up to 1500 Amps at 250 Volts AC, allowing for safe interruption of dangerous fault.
